Failures can happen at any stage, leading to forgetting or to having false reminiscences. The key to enhancing one’s memory is to improve processes of encoding and to make use of strategies that assure efficient retrieval. Good encoding strategies embody relating new data to what one already is aware of, forming psychological photos, and creating associations among information that needs to be remembered. The key to good retrieval is creating efficient cues that may lead the rememberer again to the encoded info.
